RACE PREVIEW

The March Madness 125 feature race will be for SCCOTTT Super Stock T-Jets. Kevin Hendrickson enters the race as the favorite. Kevin nearly won the Freezin' 250 in January and lead for more than half of the final on the Grand Champion course during the Triple 125s before giving way and finishing in second. He has been quick on the Grand Champion and a little more consistency could see him through to his first Majors title. His biggest challenge will most likely come from R.C. Lincoln. A multiple national champion in magnet cars, R.C. is part of the famed Team Wizzard and is no slouch with a T-Jet either. He finished fourth at the 2006 UFHORA National Championships T-Jet race behind the SCCOTTT sweep and he will be looking to parlay his experience into a win in his first visit to Horseheads. Other potential challengers include Mark Webster, Gary Weber, Bob Lincoln and Jeff "Hoss" Phoenix. Phoenix in particular had the car to beat during the Triple 125s, but any one of this group could find the rhythm to take them to the front. Defending race champ Ryan Hendrickson has been struggling for car speed of late, but he can never be counted out.

The Brass Wars race looks to be the most wide open of the three events. Dave Hendrickson will enter a well-prepared Riggen Boss and his solid car combined with his track knowledge could prove to be the winning formula. The pre-race favorite, however, is Bob Lincoln. Lincoln took part in the original Brass Wars races during the '70's and has promised to have a rocket on hand for this one. R.C. Lincoln is expected to have similar equipment to his father and will be a strong contender as well. Joe Saccomanno has built several homemade brass HO cars. Last year he struggled with teething problems on his Screamin' Demon chassis, but things will be much different this year. Scott Udave has also taken a good hard look at the class and could mount a serious challenge.

The Thunderstorms will take to the track at SCCOTTT for the first as a support race at March Madness. This is another race whose outcome will be very difficult to predict. Local racers Dave Hendrickson and Dave Van Duzer have been looking very smooth and quick with their T-Storms. They, along with Spena, have been swapping the lap record for the class back and forth. Once again it will come down to track experience vs. car experience. Bob Lincoln created the Storm and, along with his son R.C., developed it as well. They will have the setup advantage and their ability to learn the Grand Champion course could prove to be the difference in the Thunderstorm race...
