4th Annual Freezin' 250 Preview

The previous three Freezin' 250s have produced three different winners. With none of the past winners expected to enter the 2005 edition promises to deliver another new victor. Mark Webster heads into the race as the favorite. Webster was the big surprise in the Turkey 250, finishing a strong 2nd to Hendrickson. He followed that up with a strong third at the Snowball 500. He will be challenged by Ryan Hendrickson, Mark Burdick and Jeff "Hoss" Phoenix. Hendrickson has finished directly behind Webster in the last two PRR Fray Majors. Burdick was 2nd in last year's Freezin' 250. His limited racing schedule has hurt him in 2004, but testing thus far in '05 has yielded more speed from the BAM Racing Equipe. Phoenix has shown good speed the past two events, but a lack of consistency has caused him to miss the final round.
Larry Weaver leads the list of drivers who could step up and surprise at the Freezin' 250. Weaver and the Kanga Kars team have been testing on a scale model of the Watkins Glen Grand Prix circuit and are claiming to have found some big horsepower. Kevin Hendrickson is the least experienced of the KRD stable of drivers, but he has shown great speed at times. If he can find the consistency he will be a threat. Rich Centurelli and Bill Meehan have been testing on a track identical to PRR's Buck, and no one is quite sure just what will come out of the West Hill Speed Shop for this event...
