Saturday, the sleepy, tidewater community of Matthews County, awoke early to the screamingly fast MASCAR Modifieds shrieking around the infamous Terd track, at Mark Smith's HO paradise. The teenage phenom, Ray Etheridge, driving a Wizzard Storm was not to be headed on this day...topping the time sheets for qualifying, the round robin, and on to the 20 minutes of the "A" Main. Mark Smith and Ronnie Jamerson continued their season long battle, which resulted in an absolute tie at 358 points, after 8 races so far in the MASCAR championship. Tom Bowman blew his 3 ohm Wizzard M wind in the Storm and was forced to run the backup Slottech ThunderCat T2...which while quick, could not match the pace of the top dogs. The whole story in pictorial form, is on the race report:

Round 9 will be BeachJets, on March 7th, at Tim Keevin's MaxTrax road course...Gloucester Point, Virginia.

In a scheduling change, Jeff Crabtree's Modified race on May 2nd is cancelled, due to the Mid Atlantics races in Bedford, PA. This race will be part of a double header at Jeff's on June 6th, the 65th anniversary of the D-Day Landings.
